Northern Territory

The project comprised of works not limited to the removal of existing weir structure, construction of a new weir centre structure identical to the old weir dimensions including new apron down stream as per drawings supplied and remedial works which included extra weir section on the west bank and rock at rear.

East Timor

This project was located at the Comoro Airport in Dili Timor Leste. Construction consisted of a hard stand, lay down and operations complex for the Australian Defence Force. the complex will house 85 personal permanently and is the primary staging facility for the Timor Leste Aviation Group where Defence Force Blackhawk Helicopters and logistic support operations will be serviced and operated from. the contract was divied into five separable portions, earthworks, dining room and gymnasium, electrical, plumbing and construction of a substantial Dog Kennel. The greenfield site was located within the Dili Airport boundaries and adjacent to the current main Dili runway. General clearing and grubbing was undertaken followed by the removal of 25,500m3 of sandy silt material of which 18,900m3 was combined with 27,200m3 of imported fill to build up and establish 43,600 square metres of taxiway, flight line and building foundation. There was a further importation of 24,200m3 of sub-base and base course material.

Queensland

RMS were awarded this Serco Sodexo Defence Services project which was for the contruction of a Stop Butt for a military Rifle Range located at Atherton on the Tablelands in North Queensland. The project consisted of earthworks, grouted stone pitching, vee drains to toes of Stop Butt and a storm water sump pit with pipe outlet to a primary bullet catcher tank. It was necessary to implement and maintain strict Environmental Management Plans and Erosion Control.

Queensland

This project containted the civil works portion of the construction of an Ergon 66/11kV substation at Sucrogen's Victoria Mill located at Ingham in North Queensland. Works included bulk earthworks, retaining walls, stormwater drainage, external roadworks, conduits, installation of earth grid and temporary fencing.

East Timor

The Specialist Training Wing comprising the primary multi-user facility with three separate specialist areas.

Construction of sewer connected to an elaborate absorption trench and fed into a sediment tank to separate grey water.

East Timor

With the largest design capcity in East Timor, RMS was the logical choice for the design and construction of this important part of the East Timorese Defence infrastructure. Design and construction was fast-tracked to achieve the very tight timeframe required.

Emergency infrastructure maintenance project. Over 200 local personnel gained valuable experience in the construction of protection works. RMS used this project to train local supervisors in modern construction techniques.

Construction of compound and accommodation facilities Dili. this construction showcased the various skills of the RMS workforce. The project included detailed excavation, building construction and concrete works, construction of a water treatment plant and swimming pool. An Earth Award was received for this project.

This East Timor project  included site preparation earthworks, landscaping, roadworks and building works. DCP Residential Compound is a fully self-sustaining secure compound consisting of four x 4 bedroom homes, swimming pool, guard house, gymnasium, water purification, waste water treatment plant and electrical generation plant, built during Phase 1.

Site preparation and earthworks, concrete paving works, road works and building works. The facilities requiring relocation of ADF infrastructure facilities within the Dili Heliport Site through Patrick Defence Logistics commissioned RMS to look after the relocation of all the Heliport Facilities.

1. Earthworks and infrastructure
2. Security wall package
3. Construction of Housing package

Queensland

Capping of tailings dam using bulldozers, excavators, articulated dump truck. Profiling and draining interior of tailings dam with excavator and laser scoop. Construction of spill-way and upgrade access road to tailings dam. Load and lay-out 164,300m3.
