APOD West EarthworksEast Timor This project was located at the Comoro Airport in Dili Timor Leste. Construction consisted of a hard stand, lay down and operations complex for the Australian Defence Force. the complex will house 85 personal permanently and is the primary staging facility for the Timor Leste Aviation Group where Defence Force Blackhawk Helicopters and logistic support operations will be serviced and operated from. the contract was divied into five separable portions, earthworks, dining room and gymnasium, electrical, plumbing and construction of a substantial Dog Kennel. The greenfield site was located within the Dili Airport boundaries and adjacent to the current main Dili runway. General clearing and grubbing was undertaken followed by the removal of 25,500m3 of sandy silt material of which 18,900m3 was combined with 27,200m3 of imported fill to build up and establish 43,600 square metres of taxiway, flight line and building foundation. There was a further importation of 24,200m3 of sub-base and base course material. |

DCP House Working AccommodationEast Timor The project was funded and managed under Australia's Defence Cooperation Program (DCP-EM) with the purpose to construct dedicated working accommodation under the one roof for the DCP personnel holding offices in Dili. The new building has a floor area of 19.9m wide x 26.5m long consisting of a porch, reception area, Engineer's office, open plan office, library, exhibition hall, conference room, ablutions, 3 general offices, a CO's office, IT server room and Q-Store office and store. Earthworks included the construction of a building platform with sand bedding and excavation for footing foundation. External works included paving blocks, landscaping, flagpole, chainmesh gate, concrete wall opening and guardhouse construction. Complete electrical and mechanical installation, hot and cold water supply, sanitary fixtures and tapwares, hot water unit, joineries and fixed furniture. |

Residence for Japanese AmbassadorEast Timor The project funded by the Japanese Government was to provide a well secured residence for the Japanese Ambassador. RMS was the only qualilfied sub-contractor able to meet the rigid quality and standards of the Japanese designer and consultant, in particular in relation to the standard of fabricating and installation of reinforcement bars and the only reliable supplier of ready mixed concrete in East Timor. The scope of work was extended to include the supply and laying of the asphalt road and parking area. |

F-FDTL HeadquartersEast Timor The project was funded and managed under the Australia's Defence Cooperation Program in East Timor (DCP-EM). The project was the combination of an office and warehouse built with concrete foundation and concrete block walls designed to provide solid walls that could withstand extreme weather conditions. It also included an asphalt parking lot with a storm water drainage system. The headquarters building was fitted with screens providing both security and protection from insects. The fully air-conditioned offices providing users with a conducive work environment. |

English Language Training Facility ExpansionEast Timor Funded and managed under the Australia's Defence Cooperation Program in East Timor (DCP-EM) the project was an expansionof the existing facility. An integral part of the Training Centre providing much needed classroom facilities to respond to the increasing number of students and trainees. The new infrastructure consisted of a 1-6mx12m classroom building, 1-6x20m classroom building, 1-6x12m computer room builidng and a 1-12mx20m covered area. Infrastructure of existing services were also upgraded including power, water storage and sanitary facilities. |

Hera Polytechnic CollegeEast Timor RMS was engaged to prepare a budget proposal and implement the construction of a laboratory. The project was a donation funded by the University of WA to the Geological and Mineral Resources Department of the East Timor Government. The laboratory was built in an existing building utilising all the rooms/area and turned into an entry/foyer area, rock layout/preparation and receiving area, consumables store, Lab 1 for rock cutting, Lab 2 thin sectioning, Lab 3 microscope/computing/office, Lab 4 rock store, Lab 5 Paleontology, Lab 6 mapping, Lab 7 rock layout/preparation and receiving. Also constructed was a 3m x 4m generator shed and the supply of 1000 litre capcity fuel tank. |

USAID CompoundEast Timor The office building of USAID in Timor Leste was damaged by fire caused by faulty wiring in May 2010. After the incident, USAID Timor Leste engaged RMS to prepare plans and a budget proposal. The renovation was funded by USAID/RDMA/Asia. The construction included new offices, extension to the Safe Haven and the extension to the Guard House. All the new structures joining together with the Main Building to form one unit. Also part of the Reconstruction was the back building renovation which included fire proofing of the server room, power and data upgrade, supply and installation of 30KVA UPS for the office. Works also included plumbing and sanitary works to include two water storage tanks with pressure pump. Extension of the Safe Haven with 200mm thick reinforced concrete walls and 150mm thick reinforced concrete roof slab. Works also included the renovation of the kitchen, skillion, refroofing of cabana and landscaping works. |
